Parking Lot - Victory!

At tonight's Streetscape Meeting, the Chairman of the Streetscape Committee, Sally Marshall, announced publicly that Streetscape's plan for a Parking Lot to be built on Highspire Gardens has been ABANDONED!

After the public announcement, members of the Streetscape Committee met in small groups with individual Wilkes Street property owners to review concerns about details of the Plan such as curb cuts, green strips between sidewalk and property lines, street lights, benches, trash cans and curb "bump-outs". The Streetscape Committee members took notes of the property owners detail concerns and have pledged to address them. All in all, a very successful and productive evening!

Tonight's success can only be attributed to the Public for speaking out, supporting our efforts and being willing to act to "Save Highspire Gardens"!
