Parking Lot - Starting the Petitions!!

This is NOT how I thought I would spend my 45th Birthday!

Today I started petitions to "Save Highspire Gardens". I have two petitions: one for businesspersons and one for residents and visitors. Contary to the claims of the Chairman of the Streetscape Committee, NOT all businessowners, residents and visitors want a parking lot instead of the Gardens. In fact, many businessowners have asked for an extra copy of the petition to keep in their stores for signatures! My neighbors and fellow citizens are mortified by the Parking Lot and it is heartbreaking to see the shock and disbelief on their faces when I tell them.

Approximately 100 people signed today -- businessperson, visitors and residents alike. I actually ran out of petition forms and had to send a trusty friend to make more copies! Thank God people care about our town's heritage and the beauty of Highspire Gardens!
