Garden Journal - The Gargoyle and the Fungus

Behind Highspire is a huge stump left over from a box elder tree that fell several years ago. The decaying stump makes the perfect base for this garden gargoyle. This time of year it looks like the gargoyle is surrounded by strange and beautiful clouds -- but its really just a spectacular tree fungus!
