Garden Journal

Today was our second sizable snowfall -- around eight inches. Obviously, nothing like the 114 inches one of my friends received in upstate NY. Interestingly, the temps are now supposed to begin to climb and reach the 40s during the days by later this week. That will probably melt this snowfall. But we have been hit with huge snows in March, so I'm not counting Winter out yet! Still, with it being an "El Nino" year, maybe we've seen the worst of it. I hope so...my fig tree and my succulents are coming out of dormancy and they will want someplace warm to go. I'm excited to get planting because I scored several Burgundy Iceberg roses and I can't wait to see how they do for me this year. Also, my new Green Tower boxwoods look like they have pulled through the Winter and are ready to take off.
